They say never to talk to yourself

In a way

That you wouldn’t talk to your five year old self

It’s a therapy phrase I feel

A term designed

To stop the “you’re useless, you’re worthless,”

“Nobody loves you” sort of thing

To be honest though

It’s about high time

Someone did have a word with my younger self

Precocious little fuck

I’m pissed that he picked up a pencil

Instead of learning to code

Or learning a language

He let me down by not building up that confidence early

Or buying reams of bitcoin when it was as cheap as chips

“Yes,” they say

“Don’t talk to yourself

In a way

That you wouldn’t talk to your five year old self”

But it’s been another 20 years of shite

And I’ve a list of grievances

A mile long
